Valencia Westfield Mall Coming To An End
For the past 30 years, the Westfield Valencia Town Center has been a significant landmark of Santa Clarita. However, Westfield has unfortunately decided to sell all of their United States properties, including the Valencia Town Center.
The news of the sale has left many residents of Santa Clarita wondering what the future holds for this iconic shopping center. Because of this uncertainty, the city has decided to give the community a chance to provide input on what should replace the Town Center Mall if a developer takes over the property.
John, a Santa Clarita resident, gives his thoughts on what the mall should add if it changes. He expressed, “Honestly, I would love to see the mall stay as it is. It’s such a great location, and I think it would be hard to replicate the success of the mall. But if it does have to change, I hope it’s something that still draws a lot of people to the area. Maybe a new shopping center with a mix of local and national retailers could work.”
The city’s goal is to ensure that the community’s voice is heard and that any future development aligns with the community’s vision for the area. The first public meeting was on May 4th from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Carl Boyer Conference Room at City Hall.
This public meeting was an opportunity for the community to discuss their thoughts on the future of the Valencia Town Center. Residents provided input on what they would like to see in the area, whether it be a mixed-use development, a community center, or a new shopping destination.
This meeting was an important step in the process of determining the future of the Valencia Town Center. It provided an opportunity for community members to have their voices heard and to ensure that the area can benefit everyone.
A long-time resident of Santa Clarita, Rachel, shared her perspective on how she feels about the mall getting sold. She explained, “It’s definitely a big change for the area. The mall has been a staple in our community for so long, and it’s hard to imagine it being owned by someone else. But at the same time, I think it’s important that the community has a say in what happens to the property.”
The City of Santa Clarita has always been committed to ensuring that the community’s needs are met. This commitment is reflected in the many community events and initiatives that are organized each year. The public meeting on May 4th is just one example of the city’s commitment to the community and effort to hear the peoples voices.
The Westfield Valencia Town Center mall has been an integral part of the City of Santa Clarita for the past 30 years. With the upcoming sale of the property, the city is allowing the community to provide input on what should replace the town center if a developer takes over the property. The public meeting that occurred on May 4th will decide the future of our beloved Valencia Town Center.
