As we begin to wrap up the 2025 softball season, we reflect back on the seniors and their time as a Golden Valley softball player. We may be looking into the past, but we also take a look into the future and what’s to come.
We interviewed two seniors, Rohan Elhamamsy and Gabby Delgado, they have been on the softball team all four years. We asked them, “How have you liked being a part of Golden Valley softball?” along with “What impression do you want to leave on the field for years to come?”
Delgado mentions “It’s been a roller coaster, but being a part of GV softball has been some of the most beneficial moments in my 4 years of high school. We have gone through every possible negative thing that could’ve happened in 4 years, but we’ve gotten through it together and learned to come back stronger than the last time.”
Elhamamsy answers with, “The impression I wanted to leave on the field is that we are Golden Valley and that this is a blessing. I wanted people to know that it is possible, I want to be a role model for people who think it’s too late to join a sport or too late to take a risk in life in general. One of my proudest and strongest moments is the ability to put aside that I’ve never played softball and bring up the confidence to try something new my freshman year, and now that I thankfully took that risk, I get to play college ball. Golden Valley is all about experiencing and trying something new and I hope people decide to take risks, as they’ll never know if they don’t try.”
The seniors reflect back on the last couple of years and it’s clear to see the impact they’ve had on the softball program.
Now, it’s time to focus on what’s in the making of Golden Valley Softball. We interviewed two sophomores, Ilana Watson and Mia Pauley. We asked them, “How have you liked being a part of the Golden Valley Softball program?” and “What do you hope to see from Golden Valley softball?”
Pauley responds by stating, “I have loved being a part of GV Softball and I have loved building our sisterhood within the team. Considering our ups and downs from the 2 years I have been here, we have always been there for one another and I find that very special!”
Watson comments “I hope to see GV softball continue to improve and thrive, with more teamwork and more victories in the coming seasons!” The team has great chemistry and it’ll be fun to see where the softball program takes its course.
We also acknowledged varsity, sophomore captain, Andi Anderson. We asked her, “How do you want to lead your team on and off the softball field?” She replies with, “I would like to see passion behind every individual girl, with every play, with every swing. I’ve noticed that within this year and the last year we have such a good team but all we lack is the drive to succeed and go over the top. I hope to set that example and put your all into this sport and show off your hard work on the field.”
One thing is for certain, this team has the talent, heart, and drive to make a start for Golden Valley Softball. With each game, they continue to prove that they’re not just playing softball, they’re making memories, along with building something special. Stay tuned, because this story is far from over.
