There were many unfortunate events that have occurred this year, including the Palisades fires and other additional fires. This has taken a huge toll on the Santa Clarita Valley and has been extremely difficult for a lot of people. We as a community have come together to support each other and we have truly represented a supportive community. We as citizens have done a lot to help, however we must give appreciation and recognition to our firefighters. Our firefighters have put their lives on the line to help people in the community and have served as huge contributors to our community. Our local fire stations in Santa Clarita which are stations number 104, 111, 73, 150, 126, 128, 107, 108, 156, 124, and more have contributed so much to our community this last year and deserve appreciation and credit for all they have done. They have risked their lives for our community and we as a community need to give back to them. We need to say thanks for all they have done to protect our community and keep us safe.
To show our appreciation for our firefighters we can do many things. For example we can do what we can to help our community and make their jobs easier. We can continue to take care of our communities, especially during seasons where fires are more prone to occur. We can also show our appreciation by simply saying thanks. One “thank you” can really affect a person and make them feel appreciated for the work they do. Being a firefighter comes with a lot of responsibilities and it can really take a toll on their personal lives. They can be away from their families for days at a time and not have that support from their loved ones. Another thing is they are risking their lives by just doing their job. Firefighters have sadly passed due to casualties resulting from them fighting fires. Another thing people can do to help is give back and help those who have been affected by fires. Also donating to fire stations, you can make donations to local fire stations by donating directly through the California Fire Foundation online or even through GoFundMe. There are many ways to give back and provide support to our firefighters and fire stations.
Every year our firefighters do all they can to keep us safe and we want to make sure that they are recognized for that. A lot of times people don’t realize how taxing their jobs are and how firefighters are impacted by what they do and I hope to bring awareness to that. People need to see and recognize all that they do and have done for others.
