Geneva Lara, age 14, is currently a freshman at Golden Valley and is a Sports News Staff Writer. She is also a JV cheerleader who can tumble and has good jumps. She used to be a competitive gymnast for 7 years and won many medals and some trophies. She is excited to write about sports because she is very athletic and is always interested in any updates about sports or how it’s going for each sports team. She is also passionate about raising awareness about things and problems that are going on in the outside world that may be affecting many students. Raising awareness could hopefully teach students to not make jokes about those types of things that could affect other students that are going through a hard time dealing with the situations going on in the outside world today. Being a part of The Grizzly Gazette is important to her because her writing can hopefully encourage students to join more extracurricular activities and to also be kinder to their peers because you never know what someone else is dealing with or going through. Other hobbies that Geneva likes to do are workout and to hang out with family and friends.
