Nex Gutierrez, Campus & Community Staff Editor
Nex Gutierrez is a Golden Valley High School Journalism News team senior. They are a part of multiple clubs; secretary of Pride Club and a consistent member of both ME Club and Art Club.
Nex always had an aptitude of delving into a good story, with hours upon hours of reading. That then transformed into something stronger, with a new passion for creativity within their own stories. Writing in your own voice is widely frowned upon in the school grading and rubrics but that never stopped Nex from finding a style unique to themself, being able to take part in a newsroom setting, and having the chance to address topics not so commonly cared for. They like covering movie reviews; talking about their strange symbolisms hidden details and stronger meanings. Need a good rec? They got you!
It was their first time in any sort of cohort collaborative setting. Working alongside others while creating stories to their liking, being able to spotlight anything that might have perked the interest of the news team.
Hobbies that take up most of their time would be far too many to list out. At the moment, they like to write, read, draw, and listen to music. Writing daring challenges and exotic experiences while also being able to draw out the scenarios is what they do. They own many fandom-related objects ranging from TV shows and movies to animes and books. They love Transformers and classic cars along with their history and mechanics.
