Nyx Sera, Section Editor for Campus & Community News
Nyx Sera is a senior and a part of the Journalism program at Golden Valley High as the Section Editor for Campus & Community News. She is an avid reader and aspiring poet who focuses on human rights, political science, and puts an alternative perspective on the reality of high-school. In her last year of high-school, she believes in living life to the fullest, finding art and color, rather than focusing on the black and white or the gray areas which are inevitably a thought inside anyone’s head. As president of Multi-Media Exploration Club, she looks forward to incorporating different media into the student newspaper, focusing on different interests and the divergent sensibilities among students. Being a part of the school newspaper means having a voice, the ability and right to speak up for those who are underestimated, underrepresented, and undervalued. It means being able to understand and empathize with the different perspectives of the world, and that can start with something as (not so) small as printing the school newspaper. A fun fact of Nyx is that she absolutely loves reading poetry, just as much as she does writing it. In both, it reflects the author and herself, more than what words could speak. Writing is such an important part of life, and that is exactly what she strives to do in the newspaper.
